Cloth diapers – types and ways of using themh

Having a baby is a woman's greatest and most beautiful dream come true. Are you currently enjoying the most beautiful time of your life and want only the best for your dearest treasure?

Diapers – are one of the essentials when it comes to looking after your newborn baby. The baby spends the first 700 - 1000 days of his or her life in diapers. The skin of newborn babies and little children is very sensitive. It's five times thinner than an adult's skin. It's much more permeable to harmful chemicals. It reacts with inflammation and irritation. It's hence important that your baby spends the first days of his or her life in natural materials (instead of chemicals) - then you've come to the right place.

We offer an alternative to one-use diapers - cloth diapers.

How to do it:

Before you figure out how many diapers you need to prepare, please take a look at the following information.

Despite the best effort of our currently available technology, it is impossible to develop a single size that'd fit a newborn baby just as well as it would a 2 year-old child. If you've decided to start using cloth diapers right after the baby is born, we'd advise making a stock of diapers labeled as for newborns. These will fit better than the one-size and will last you long enough.

Diapers for newborns :

This size is appropriate for all babies below 3.5 kg. You can choose the following option:

1.Use newborn PUL panties on top and change inserts whenever needed or when the baby "had to pee". At the beginning, feel free to mix up the usual wool squares with a bamboo insert. If you want to be sure the baby's really dry, you can use a separation liner. Wash the panties only when soiled. It's not necessary with every diaper change, and they dry really quickly.

2.Another option is using (moms like this one especially for nighttime) newborn PUL panties - with cotton on the outside, absorbent bamboo terry on the inside and soft bamboo terry in contact with the baby's soft skin. They come with a 3-layer insert, however we need to use upper PUL panties as well - -- because they don't let the wetness through while still being breathable. An alternative is using upper panties from Merino wool. These however need to be lanolinated.

3.You can also use Pocket diapers (for children over c. 5 kg) - they're from the same material as PUL panties, but with an interior pocket for inserts. Pocket diapers are easy and nifty to change however they come with a disadvantage. You need to change (wash) the diaper after each change - though it dries fast. On the other hand, its benefit is how fast and simple it is to use; which is good e.g. when going for a walk, to the doctor etc.

One-size diapers:

When it seems to you the diapers for newborns are too small for your baby, you will get ready for one-size diapers. These come with snap fasteners in the front that allow you to adjust the size of the diaper to fit your baby.

When considering one-size diapers, there are as well three options:

1.The first option for bigger children is a SIO system. It contains one-size PUL panties with an attached absorbent core - a shaped diaper COMPLETE. The SIO system offers an economic and simple way of changing the diapers. Just pin the shaped diaper onto the upper panties and you'll get an "all in one" diaper.

2.Another option is using (moms like this one especially for nighttime) one-size panty diapers - with cotton on the outside, absorbent bamboo terry on the inside and soft bamboo terry in contact with the baby's soft skin. They come with a 3-layer insert, however we need to use upper PUL panties as well - – because they don't let the wetness through while still being breathable. An alternative is using upper panties from Merino wool. These however need to be lanolinated.

3.Pocket diapers - they're from the same material as PUL panties, but with an interior pocket for inserts. It's quick changing with the disadvantage of having to wash the diaper (or take another) with every diaper change - it dries fast.

We've got feedback from moms whose babies had diaper rash. The problem subsided when they switched over switched over to bamboo diapers. The reason is that bamboo diapers and naturally antibacterial and do not lose this property with washing.
